Chola Puri With Channa Masala

Preparation Of Chola Puri:
Ingredients:
  • Maida Flour – 4 cups
  • Curd – 1/4 cup
  • Oil Or Vanaspathi – 50 gms
  • Baking Powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Oil – for frying
  • Salt – to taste
Method:
  • Make a soft dough of maida flour by adding curd and salt.
  • Cover the dough with a cloth and keep it for 2 1/2 hrs.
  • Make the dough into small balls.
  • Now, roll the small balls as puris.
  • Now, deep fry the puris in hot oil until the puri puffs up.
  • Serve hot with channa masala.
Preparation Of Channa Masala Gravy:
Ingredients:
  • Channa – 2 cups
  • Cumin Seed – 1 tsp
  • Onion – 3 (Chopped)
  • Ginger Garlic Paste – 3
  • Garam Masala – 2 tsp
  • Onion Paste – 4 tbs
  • Tomato Paste – 6 tbs
  • Corriander Powder – 5 tsp
  • Chilli Powder – 2 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Curry Leaves – a pinch
  • Salt – to taste
Method:
  • Soak the channa in water for 8 hrs.
  • Pressure cook the channa with salt.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add cumin seed and curry leaves.
  • Add chopped onions and saute it till golden brown.
  • Then add ginger garlic paste, onion paste, tomato paste and fry it till the raw smell exhaust.
  • Now, add chilli powder, corriander powder, turmeric powder and saute well.
  • Now, masala is ready.
  • Then, add little water and channa in the masala and cook for few minutes.
  • Finally, garnish the channa masala gravy with corriander leaves.
