Vatha Kuzhambu (South Indian Dish)


Ingredients:
 
Sundaikai Vathal - 20 pcs
Tamarind Extract - 1/2 cup
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tbs
Sambar Powder - 2 tbs
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tbs
Asafoetida - a pinch
Urad dal - 1/4 tbs
Methi Seeds - 1/4 tbs
Salt to taste
Jaggery - a pinch

Method:

Step 1: Heat the oil and add the mustard seeds, methi seeds, urad dal and asafoetida, wait till crackle. Then add the sundaikai vathal into the oil and fry them till golden brown.
Step 2: Add the tamarind extract, turmeric powder, sambar powder and salt. Let the kuzhambu become thick.
Step 3: Add a pinch of jaggery & coriander leaves to vatha kuzhambu, finally Vatha Kuzhambu is ready to searve with hot rice.
